Isolated in the Outer Flow, past The Weird, there lies a world rich with rowdy taverns and perilous forests. Astrya resides in a binary star system in its own crystal sphere. Long ago, the people of Astrya worshipped the dual suns of their world as the gods of life, until the day the first spelljammer arrived. With the technology to travel the cosmos, the populace abandoned the religion and began searching for the true nature of the universe. Their different methodologies of doing so, however, divided the nations. Some looked to conquer the realms beyond Astrya, while others only wished to learn. The disparities in the philosophies of the world's leaders led to agitation and tension among the public. Eventually, war broke out, and millions of lives were lost. Entire cities were raided, and families were torn apart. After nearly 50 years of bloody battles, a stalemate finally came. During the impasse, a truce was made between the five kingdoms. They ended up heavily depreciating the means by which people were able to leave the planet. Spelljamming ports became few and far between, as the production of spelljammers came to a halt. They also decreased trade between nations, hoping to avoid conflict as much a possible. While adventurers upon spelljammers are still welcome in Astrya, they are sparse compared to what they once were, as the planet continues to isolate itself further each and every day.
