Brightspace, also known as the Sundered Sphere, appeared suddenly in a charted region of Known Space in the year 1490 DR. The crystal shell of Brightspace consists of an opaque black material. Its interior is studded with star-like lights. The shell is pierced in one point by a jagged hole, and this is the only known way to enter or leave the sphere.
The Elven Imperial Navy has established an outpost just inside of the hole. The Navy stops all spacefarers who attempt to enter, in order to ascertain whether they may be a threat to the groundling elven nations of Rythea.
